Mount Vernon Dream Team!

A crowd gathered at Phillips Park on Saturday afternoon to celebrate the Mount Vernon 12-year-old Little League All-Stars and their Great Lakes Region runner-up finish. Several commendations were presented to the team from Gov. Ted Strickland, State Rep. Thom Collier and the city of Mount Vernon.

“I would like to thank the community for their support,” said Pentz. “We had two teams — the 12-year-olds and the 15-year-olds — step into territory that’s never been stepped in before. I kept telling them, ‘You’re making history, you’re making history, you’re making history,’ and they continued to want to make history. They never wanted to stop, and that’s an awesome way to go out. They were never satisfied with winning the state and just making the regional for the first time. They were never satisfied by winning one game there, and I think that was shown with the 11-inning ballgame that truly could have gone either way. They showed Mount Vernon baseball at its best. I’m extremely proud of them.

“The announcer, after the last game, said, ‘Boys, you may have just played in the greatest game ever played on this field.’ I haven’t watched much baseball in the Great Lakes, but if there is a game that is better than that, I’d like for them to show it to me. I have never seen a youth baseball game better than what we saw there.”

One of the boys on the Dream Team was from the Mount Vernon Ward. Way to go Boy's!

My Sweet Son!

I tried to write this post the other day but for some reason it just didn't work, I keep deleating it by mistake! So I thought I'd wait a day or so and try again.
July 30th was 13 years ago that John David returned back to the presence of his Heavenly Father. I spent a lot of time that day reflection on the past and what life has been like with out him. John David was a very special spirit, i guess he was not ment to stay on this earth for very long. He taught me much the 9 years he was here and he has taught me so much more since he as passed to the other side of the veil.. Some people may think I'm crazy and that's OK with me! I feel his presents quite often and it has only reinforced my belief in the here after. I not only Believe but I KNOW! that there is something more when our time is up on this earth. I'm grateful for that knowledge, how would I make it if I only thought what is here is all we will have, that when our bodies die that is the end of us! I feel very blessed to have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I have been blessed with 2 beautiful children a wonderful husband and some amazing friends. I truly am Blessed! I look forward to seeing him again one day.. but until that day I plan to enjoy this beautiful world the Lord has prepared for me.. And be the best wife and mother that I can... I love my family and I'm glad I have them to help me when times get hard and I feel like I'm ready to go!! I look forward to seeing my grandchildren and I pray that the good Lord will allow that to happen on this side of the veil!
So all my wonderful friends and family that thought of me this year.. Thank You! I love you all. God Bless!
